RED OX

The clients are both working artists. Keith Bryant required a sculpture studio with lots of natural light. Crista Cammaroto required a meditative, conditioned space with views of the creek. For their home, they both wanted privacy, and to enjoy being outside in the forest. Entertaining, gardening, and aging in place were priorities addressed in the program. Solar orientation, access to views, and water management inspired a dynamic roofline. Jeff Dorsten at Wells Construction Group and his talented team brought Red Ox to fruition.

"The Red Oxen live between the forest and a creek. They watch you through the trees as you arrive, and pass by. They like to listen to the creek, the wind, and observe the changing of the seasons. They are ready to share their knowledge, but you'll have to pay close attention, because they speak a different language."
